Black Diamond, a group specialised in outdoor sport equipment, has restructured its European operations, appointing Tim Bantle as Europe Managing Director. "Europe is our brand's top opportunity market (...) We wish to confirm our position as leader in climbing equipment (...) and we will also continue to expand our lighting products, and innovate in key product categories, such as skiing (...)," commented Tim Bantle, formerly in charge of the product, sales and marketing departments at Black Diamond's world headquarters in Salt Lake City.

Tim Bantle will be supported by Craig Foster, currently Black Diamond's MIS Director, who was appointed Director of Operations and IT, by Georg Hoffberger, currently with PIEPS, who joined Black Diamond as CFO Europe, and by Stephan Hagenbusch, in charge of major accounts and marketing for Europe. Also, a sales director will be in charge of all sales representatives and the sales department.
Black Diamond Equipment also announced that its headquarters have moved from Basel, Switzerland, to Innsbruck, Austria. As part of the new organisation, the company stated that 35 jobs need to be filled, in the sales, marketing, customer service, operations and finance departments.
Tim Bantle is now reporting to group President Mark Ritchie, Black Diamond's former Director of Operations, who succeeded Peter Metcalf, the company's founder and CEO, after he left the group at the end of 2015.
