Ben Sherman poaches director from Burberry

Published
Aug 18, 2011

Burberry, Ben Sherman
Adrian Ward-Rees
British clothing brand Ben Sherman has just announced the appointment of Adrian Ward-Rees as its new commercial director. The arrival of the British executive follows that of Antonio Cvijanovic last Autumn as retail manager.

Adrian Ward-Rees was previously in charge of Burberry’s menswear merchandising since 2007. Prior to that, he also worked for Nike, Adidas or Speedo. But it seems like the experience he gained from his time at Burberry is what interested Ben Sherman’s CEO Pan Philippou the most. The latter stated: “Adrian Ward-rees brings a fantastic wealth of experience from within the luxury sector to the business, reflecting our aspirations and commitment to growth on an international scale.”

After recently deciding to concentrate its offer around menswear in 2010, Oxford Industries' British brand is now taking a turn to a more upscale fashion.
