Authentic Brands Group acquires Frederick’s of Hollywood
Authentic Brands Group on Tuesday finally announced that it has officially acquired Frederick’s of Hollywood, increasing its portfolio to nearly $5 billion in global retail sales.
ABG aims to launch a new brand vision for Frederick’s, expand product categories, and drive distribution across department stores and specialty retailers in North America, Europe, Asia, South America and Latin America. The product offering will be lead by intimates followed by, what they consider to be tent pole categories, beauty, fragrance and personal care.
"Lingerie is Frederick's heritage and this is a brand that continues to be inspired by Hollywood glamour," said Nick Woodhouse, President & CMO, ABG.
"There is a tremendous amount of brand equity that we will leverage globally via key partnerships, dynamic marketing, and innovative product design." Jamie Salter, Chairman and CEO, ABG continued, "Born during the 1940's pinup era, Frederick's is a legendary women's brand that we are excited to welcome to the ABG brand family.
The company will also partner to implement the new brand vision on the Frederick’s website, Fredericks.com, which will include categories such as intimates, shapewear, loungewear, sleepwear, swimwear and accessories.
