Apparel Training and Design Centre begins implementation of its initiative 'Smart Inside'

The Apparel Training and Design Centre under its initiative ‘Smart Inside’ has begun the setting up of training cells for skill development in apparel factories across India.

Training cells in apparel units like Jyoti Apparels in Manesar, Haryana, Fine Fit Garment, Tamil Nadu, R.K Industry, Chennai, and KG Garments, Ludhiana have started successfully. Under the initiative, ATDC aims to train minimum 300 candidates every year at each training cell.

ATDC-Smart Inside offers 11 courses under ISDS scheme approved by the ministry of textiles, government of India, for the duration of 300 hours completed in 6-7 weeks. The apparel units, where the training cells are set-up, will provide placement to 70-75 per cent of the candidates of each batch.

Darlie Koshy, DG and CEO, ATDC said, “To make ATDC’s training and technical services accessible to larger number of manufacturing units especially apparel export members of AEPC, ATDC has initiated a new concept of “ ATDC-Smart-Inside” within apparel factories to train at least 300 candidates per annum. First such training cell has been set up in Jyoti Apparels factory at Manesar, Haryana followed by many others in different regions.”

 “As soon as ATDC finalised the scheme, I invited the team to set up a training Cell at our Manesar factory. Currently second batch is undergoing the training,” said HKL Magu, Chairman, Jyoti Apparels.
