Amazon India ties up with Pearl Academy, creations go online on ‘The Designer Boutique’

Amazon India has partnered with one of India’s leading fashion designing colleges Pearl Academy to give an opportunity to budding designers to sell their collections online of the e-commerce firm’s fashion platform ‘The Designer Boutique’.

Amazon India had launched the boutique store on its platform with an aim to make designer wear accessible & affordable in the country. The store allows established and emerging designers to focus on their core products.
 
The grand finale collections by Ashish N Soni, Krishna Mehta, Pankaj & Nidhi, Rina Dhaka, Rohit Gandhi etc showcased at the recently concluded Amazon India Fashion Week had gone online immediately after the show and is currently available online.

Pearl Academy students had also showcased their collections at the event and now all their creations will be on sale alongside the top designers at The Designer Boutique on Amazon.in.
 
"We want the institute's talented alumni to leverage our investments in technology and infrastructure to unlock the true potential of their products. Our endeavour is to make designer wear available, affordable and accessible," Arun Sirdeshmukh, Business Head, Amazon Fashion said in a statement.
 
Nandita Abraham, CEO, Pearl Academy, said "For the last 25 years, it has been our constant endeavour to provide the best of platforms and opportunities to our students and help further their career goals. This opportunity will act as a launchpad for young designers and alumni to showcase their creations at Amazon.in."
 
The Designer Boutique at Amazon.in offers designer products for both women and men across apparels, accessories and footwear priced Rs 1500 to 30000 (approx $25 to $450).
 
Amazon India is continuously upgrading its fashion segment to take on rival Flipkart which currently owns a major share of the online fashion retail market in India along with its subsidiaries Myntra and Jabong.
