Alcis Sports expands retail footprint, opens stores in New Delhi and Jaipur

Alcis Sports, as part of its ongoing expansion plan across the country, has added exclusive brand outlets in the national capital New Delhi and Pink city of Jaipur in Rajasthan.
 

The new stores are located in prime areas of Kamla Nagar in New Delhi and Vaishali Nagar in Jaipur. It will house the latest range of sportswear across all sports like running, training, yoga, football and racquet sports. Alcis will also stock the official fan wear merchandise of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia for which it owns exclusive license for the Indian market.
 
Commenting on the launch of its new stores, Roshan Baid, Managing Director, Alcis Sports in a statement said, “The idea behind setting up Alcis Sports was to create a home grown affordable Indian athleisure brand which is at par with international brands in terms of quality and also in sync with Indian sensibilities. The response that we have got from consumers has been phenomenal and we are very happy to bring our brand, through our exclusive stores, to the people of New Delhi and Jaipur.”

The Indian sportswear brand expects its revenue to jump to Rs 28 crore (approx $ 4.3 million) for the current financial year from Rs 4 crore it clocked last year and further plans to expand its physical network in the country by opening 15 exclusive brand outlets this year.
 
The company has managed to raise funds from Singapore based Venture Capital firm RB Investments, and will invest Rs 7.5 crore (approx $ 1.2 million) on expansion this year. Alcis Sports is endorsed by Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan and television actors Lauren Gottlieb and Karan Tacker.
 
Apart from EBOs, Alcis has 150 shop-in-shops already operational in large format stores like Globus, Shoppers Stop, Sports Station and Central. Alcis products are also available on online retail websites.
