AIFW AW2016 to witness display by 101 designers

The 27th edition of the Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) Autumn-Winter 2016 (AW2016) will showcase the work of 101 designers, according to a Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) release.

Designers from across the country will display their collections through runways and exhibitions during the five-day event.

The recently announced show schedule by FDCI comprises 30 splendid shows with 45 designers on the ramp. Sunil Sethi, president, FDCI during the announcement said, “As the latest edition of the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2016 is set to begin, we are delighted to announce the schedule of the best talent pool, who with their inventive ideas will make it a riveting ride.”

Susan Saideman, vice president, global vendor management, Amazon said, “Ever since Amazon India and FDCI have joined hands, the shows have beautifully showcased the fashion forward trends that have been appreciated not only in India but the world over. AIFW has emphasised on colour, silhouette direction and most importantly has given a huge impetus to the brilliant craftsmanship of designers who can now reach customers throughout the country and across the globe through our platform.”

The AIFW AW 2016 in association with Maybelline New York will be held from 16 to 20 March in Delhi. Ace designer Varun Bahl will be opening the event with his show.
