Zydus Wellness Q4 net profit rises 93 percent to Rs 133 crore

FMCG major Zydus Wellness witnessed a 93 percent rise in its net profit to Rs 133 crore ($18.1 million) for the fourth quarter ended March 31, as against Rs 69 crore it reported in the corresponding period last fiscal.

The company’s revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 601 crore, as against Rs 485 crore it posted in the year-ago period.
 
For the financial year 2020-21, Zydus Wellness reported a 16 percent year-on-year decline in its consolidated net profit at Rs 119 crore while its sales rose by 7 percent to Rs 1,854 crore.

“We increased direct distribution by more than 50 percent and now directly service 5.5 lakh retail outlets. E-commerce grew by more than 250 percent for the financial year accounting for almost 3.6 percent of the domestic revenue. International business, which accounts for more than 3 percent of the consolidated revenue, also grew by 200 percent during the year with the company making an entry in countries like Nigeria and Taiwan,” Zydus Wellness said in its earnings statement.

Zydus Wellness is engaged in the development, production, marketing, and distribution of health and wellness products. It has a strong presence in the personal care and beauty segment with brands like Everyuth, and Nycil, among many others.
