Zivame’s head of training Neha Kumari held a knowledge session at JD Institute’s Bengaluru campus to promote the lingerie industry, a fast growing segment of the Indian market, the JD Institute shared on its website. As well as sharing information about the industry and its prospects for designers, Kumari also promoted Zivame’s range of underwear which targets a millennial customer base.

Kumari said that the lingerie industry is transforming from a male-dominated industry that made many women uncomfortable to one in which more women are now entering the workforce. Kumari spoke about lingerie’s specialist sizing and design specifics and gave information on how to wear and store lingerie.

Zivame expects to break even in the coming 12 months and is in talks to raise around Rs 350 crore in additional funds from investors during the current financial year. The brand plans to open 60 brick-and-mortar stores in 2020 and expand its product lines to enter new categories including sleepwear and athleisure.
