Ziniosa launched its resale model in 2020 to respond to consumer demand and witnessed 4.7% sales growth in the 2021 financial year, despite the challenges of the pandemic. The business now plans to continue to expand its circular economy for pre-loved luxury accessories, Your Story reported.

Moving forward, Ziniosa plans to expand from selling accessories to also sell and rent pre-loved clothing.

“We also want to explore the Southeast Asian markets like UAE to source products from them because a lot is going on in the region when it comes to luxury,” Ziniosa co-founder Ashri Jaiswal told YourStory. “If they are willing to sell, I think there is a huge audience in India willing to buy.”

“One of the biggest challenges we still face is that a lot of people do not like to share the rented accessory,” said Jaiswal. “We are trying to tackle this through community-building efforts and collaborations with influencers who believe in pre-loved items for a circular economy.”

Ashri Jaiswal and Varun Ramani launched Ziniosa in Bengaluru in 2017 after both following careers in the U.S. The business began bootstrapped with Rs 20 lakh ($26,903) and managed to break even in March 2020.
