Zara owner signs for new UK warehouse

Zara-owner Inditex' seems to be ramping up its e-tail operations. Fashion Retail SAU, a subsidiary of Inditex, just signed a long-term contract with UK company Clipper Logistics.

Based in Yorkshire, Clipper logistics, founded by Steve Parkin in 1992, currently has an expanding business in Germany and employs nearly 3,000 people.
 
The contract will see Clipper, which works with a number of companies, including Arcadia, Whistles and Asos, provide e-fulfilment for Zara from a new distribution centre in Northampton.

The new site will measure over 340,000 sqft. and provide fulfilment of online orders for Zara fashion in a number of European countries.

As of January 31st, 2015, Zara had 66 stores in the UK.
