The Inditex Group’s fashion retailer has just opened its new global concept store. Located in the Tishman Building on New York’s Fifth Avenue at the intersection of 52nd Street, this is the retailer’s largest US store to date. Encompassing more than 3,000 square metres spread over three floors, the new flagship has a façade spanning more than 23 metres and employs 450 people.

"In each of the three floors, the store is organised around two long corridors or catwalks that lead to intimate boutique-like cubes on each side,” the retailer said in a statement. “Each space showcases a specific collection. The wood furniture is finished in neutral elegant colours and textures reminiscent of fabrics such as linen or silk.”

Zara also announced that the store has been designed with the latest advancements in sustainability, including all of the sustainability features of Inditex’s eco-efficient stores. The new Fifth Avenue flagship contains motor detectors in the storeroom that will dim the area’s lights by 80% when no one is present. Furthermore, the shop is equipped with the most efficient heating and air conditioning on the market. Even all plastic bags are biodegradable.

Zara currently operates around 50 points of sale in the United State and wishes to strengthen its presence in the country with the opening of this new concept store, which will be used as the global standard for the international retailer. Last year, the Inditex Group invested 324 million dollars in order to acquire this prestigious location at the heart of one of the world’s prime shopping destinations.
