Aero Club, which owns the brand Woodland and Woods, aims to return to pre-pandemic double-digit growth by expanding its retail footprint, ET Bureau reported. As part of this strategy, the business will open up to nine stores dedicated to new sub-brand A Skating Monk, which recently launched in select Woodland stores and multi-brand streetwear stores with a pop-up format. Upcoming flagship stores for A Skating Monk will act as experience centres to give shoppers an understanding of the label, which was founded under Aero Club by Gagandeep Singh.

Before the pandemic hit, Woodland was growing at around 10% per year and aims to return to this growth rate, Aero Club managing director Harkirat Singh told the Press Trust of India. The brand aims to achieve this by opening stores for new brand A Skating Monk as well as Woodland itself and by continuing to grow its online sales channel.

“Now we have a larger number of SKUs as several new products were launched,” said Harkirat Singh about Woodland. “So we are opening up bigger stores. So the average store size from 2,000 square feet has gone to almost about 4,000 to 5,000 square feet.” The business aims to harness this expansion to achieve Rs 1,200 crore in sales in the 2023 financial year.
