Womenswear brand Aks launches first 'Mother Daughter Duo' line
Womenswear brand Aks has broadened its product selection with the launch of a ‘Mother Daughter Duo’ line of matching outfits for women and young girls featuring traditional and western wear.
Aks’ first line for mothers and daughters launched on its dedicated e-commerce store with a range of lehengas, kurtas, maxi dresses, and loungewear sets in textiles including cotton and rayon, the brand announced in a press release. The brand is working on reducing its textile waste, by using fabric offcuts from making the womenswear version of the garment to produce a matching children’s size piece.
“With the Mother-Daughter duo collection, Aks longs to provide a large variety of alluring and trendy ethnic and fusion wear for cheerful and vivacious mothers and daughters,” said brand founder and creative head Nidhi Yadav in a press release. “This collection is of even larger importance because the attires have been created by upcycling.”
“Aks as a clothing brand not only desires to cater to the fashion world but also is determined to lend its unwavering support to the sustainability movement,” said Yadav. “Instead of merely expressing poignancy over the glaring global issues, Aks with this venture is making an earnest effort at sparking a trend for the upcycling process.”
Yadav launched Aks in 2014 with a selection of ethnic and fusion style womenswear. The brand has both a retail and a wholesale store online and also offers a couture service.
