The business to business wholesale marketplace Wydr just announced that it experienced record sales during its India Lifestyle and Fashion E-fair and commented that embracing fashion has led to increased sales.

Wydr's wholesale E-Fair drew in a host of new buyers as the startup brought its focus on to fashion - Wydr- Facebook

Wydr held the three day long retail fair from September 12 to 14 on their e-commerce store and the event was the start of the business turning its attention to fashion and lifestyle more than ever. The event proved to be a success as the business just announced that it allowed their daily orders to increase by an impressive 75 percent over the three day period. Moreover, the start-up’s regular traffic to their e-commerce store increased by 52 percent and fashion and lifestyle product sales tripled over the same period.

The company’s Founder and CEO, Devesh Rai, said about the recent sales boost: “With the festive season coming closer, we decided to focus on fashion and lifestyle only and brought the best brands together for the retailers. The growth, not just in terms of sales, but on other aspects like buyer base, seller base, and catalogue are extremely satisfying.”

The idea behind the India Lifestyle and Fashion E-fair that Wyder organised was to allow business buyers from non-metro areas to take part in a festive trade event. Many such events are organised in Tier 1 cities but this leaves smaller, more rural retailers out of the loop at a time when non-metro brand consciousness is on the rise. In this way, the business to business wholesaler Wydr was able to capitalise on this gap in the trade market and profit greatly from focusing their attention on the fashion and lifestyle sectors.
