Wein to launch as new ‘Made in India’ online fashion brand this August
On August 15, new menswear and womenswear brand ‘Wein’ will launch online in India with a selection of ‘100% made in India’ value fashion products.
Wein, which is promoting itself online as an alternative to Chinese fast fashion e-commerce store Shein, announced on a new Instagram page that it will launch next month. The brand, which is promoting itself as ‘100% Made in India’ will retail ethnic wear and western wear, according to its Instagram page.
The Union Government recently banned the Shein fashion shopping app in India, along with 58 other Chinese apps over security concerns. The brand is heavily promoting itself as an ‘alternative to Shein’, and also mentions that it will have similar customer rewards programmes to Shein, but has not disclosed whether or not it is part of the Shein business.
The brand already boasts 26.4 thousand followers on its new Instagram page, which currently features black and white teaser images of its upcoming launch. The brand’s Instagram page also invites aspiring Indian influencers to send in their portfolios for a chance to work with the brand.
Wein’s website, which reads ‘Coming Soon’, shows a ‘Shein’ section for womenswear and ‘Hein’ section for menswear. The brand has also teased on Instagram that it will have a plus-size section named ‘Plus for Us’.
