Ahead of Mexico’s e-commerce market reaching maturity in 2016, Liverpool, Walmart, Amazon, Coppel and HEB will boost Mexico’s online offerings, says a report by the consulting firm Deloitte.

Mexico has 53.9 million users - GCR Retail

More than 50% of retailers in Mexico are just beginning to realize the importance of their online presence in the South American market, finds the report which also stated that companies are planning on new strategies to give customers a better shopping experience across channels.

16% of Mexican consumers use a web search engine, such as Google or Firefox, to look for products, compared  to 14% of purchasers who browse directly in the retailers’ website.

According to Deloitte, 65% of consumers used social media during their customer journey.

Mexican shoppers who are aged up to 43 years are also willing to pay more for products they feel adjust to their needs, according to information found online and user reviews.

Lastly, Deloitte said that "retailers should pay attention to several challenges when selling products online: consumers are concerned about sharing personal data, internet connections are sometimes slow or unreliable, and the country has significant socio economic differences?"
