After putting on a Wedding Fair in 2016, Viviana Mall has decided to host another edition of the shopping event. From November 20 to December 10, the interior of Viviana Mall is hosting wedding themed decorations and exclusive stalls aiming to be a one stop shop for wedding planning over the winter festive season.

Viviana Mall, which is located in Thane West, in the Mumbai area, and is one of the largest malls in India, has given their even the slogan “Marriages are made in heaven. Preparations are made at Viviana Mall.” Along with wedding attire, catering, and decorations available to shop and order, there are a number of events planned for the course of the fair. A “couples-to-be” contest is currently underway and the winners will win a honeymoon trip to Prague.

Some of the brands participating in the fair include Suloch and Ethnicity which are both offering discounts to shoppers who spend 5,000 and 2,000 rupees respectively. A large stage is also set up in the mall’s largest vestibule for media events.

Viviana Mall’s Wedding Fair is now one of many mall-based wedding shopping events and they are becoming increasingly popular. This year, the wedding industry in India was valued at 100,000 crore rupees and it has been growing at 25 to 30 percent annually. Moreover, as half of India’s population are under 29 years old, it is expected that the industry will continue to boom. Other malls such as Inorbit and DLF Place are also hosting wedding fairs and, despite a GST-induced spending slump on most consumer non-durables, the wedding section of the fashion industry is still alive and well.
