Visa appoints Sujatha Kumar as marketing head for India, South Asia

Visa has appointed Sujatha V Kumar as the head of marketing for India and South Asia. Kumar joins Visa from technology giant Google where she was the head of brand & reputation, marketing, and strategy.
In her new role, Kumar will be responsible for all the marketing strategies and execution including consumer, retail and digital marketing initiatives for India and the emerging markets of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and the Maldives.
Visa is betting big on the Indian market for growth and had recently partnered with the country's fastest growing fintech company, Paytm Payments Bank, to offer debit credential solutions.
Commenting on the appointment, TR Ramachandran, Visa’s group country manager, India & South Asia in a statement said, “Sujatha joins us with a diverse range of experience from the continuously evolving digital space. We are excited to welcome her to the Visa family and with her expertise, aim to build a robust brand leadership in the space we operate in.”
Sujatha V Kumar added, “I am delighted to join the Visa family and play my part in our exciting consumer and customer-facing journey of innovative, data-based marketing. We live in an increasingly growing digital society and I am looking to leverage my past experience in bridging the gap between digital disruption and consumer engagement to build trusted brands.”
Kumar has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing across companies such as Procter & Gamble, Gillette, Nokia, The Royal Bank of Scotland and Coca-Cola.
