“Just like the famous Kohinoor diamond, The Royal Oval is a rare Type IIA flawless, beautifully crafted diamond,” said Rajesh Shah, partner at Venus Jewel, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website. “It took us 105 days to produce this stunning piece of nature from a rough diamond weighing 144 carats.”

Jewellery & Gem World Singapore runs from September 27 to 30 at the Singapore Expo Centre. The event will see participation from a wide range of diamond and gem businesses as well as organisations such as the Gemological Institute of America, Thailand among others.

Brothers Sevantilal and Ramniklal Shah founded Venus Jewel in 1969 in Surat. The business has set new standards in ethical business practices, diamond cutting, polish quality, pricing, and employee care, according to its website.

“In recent times, the Indian diamond industry has been looking to increase its share (in value terms) of global cut and polished diamond exports by focusing on processing larger, high-value diamonds,” the GJEPC reported.
