Vente-privee.com pursues its internationalisation. The exclusive shopping site will have conquered the Austrian and Dutch markets by the end of the year.

Adjustments are being made. The Netherlands may be operated from either Germany or Great Britain and Austria from Germany. "We often start work in new locations from our existing offices," said Xavier Court, partner and co-founder. Thus, the German version of vente-privee.com was created at end-2007 and its subsidiary in 2009. In 2011, the giant exclusive shopping site has Scandinavia and Belgium in its plans. "The model is universal. How do we know? Since our launch, global competitors have emerged and the offer is about a balance between local and international brands," says the manager.

Very quickly Vente-Privee.com developed itself in Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany. This year's turnover excluding taxes from international operations is expected to reach 150 million Euros with a total figure anumerating 700 million, compared to 680 million in 2009 and 17 million in 2004. The company felt the crisis, with reference to the brands, has led to precautions and smaller quantities of orders, with much less stock to sell. Growth will be around 5% compared to its 25% originally foreseen. However, 2010 was primarily the year of consolidating activities.
