Varsha Wadhwa launches e-commerce portal with latest 'City of Stars' collection

The designer Varsha Wadhwa has just launched an e-commerce site for her eponymous brand alongside the debut of her winter/ festive collection, 'City of Stars'.

Varsha Wadhwa has launched her own e-commerce store with worldwide shipping to greatly increase the reach of her brand. The online store carries the brand’s entire selection and also has a dedicated bridal section, which includes a 'Trousseau Consultation' section.

Wadhwa’s latest collection, City of Stars, which has just launched on her new e-commerce site, takes its inspiration from nymphs, the 1970s icon Farrah Fawcett, and the works of Joe Webb. The collection has a colour palette of blush pink, midnight blue, rose, black, and nude and includes floor-length dresses and formal sets.

Garments are embellished with Swarovski crystals and beads to give an ethereal and glittery look. The collection also features palazzo pants, tailored suits, sarees, and crop tops with a mix of traditional and western silhouettes.

Varsha Wadhwa studied fashion design at Istituto Marangoni in Milan and, after graduating, was selected by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) as one of its top ten Gen Next designers in 2011.

Wadhwa launched the company VW Design Co. in 2014 and worked with a number of mediums including blogs, video, and art before launching her demi-couture fashion business. Wadhwa is inspired by Italian fashion and mixes it with Indian traditions by incorporating Indian embroidery techniques and aesthetics.
