Vaishali S to present collection at Paris Haute Couture Week 2021
Designer Vaishali S has been invited to showcase a collection at Paris Haute Couture Week 2021 this July, as a guest member.
The upcoming season of Paris Haute Couture Week, which will take place in the French capital from July 5 to 8, will see Vaishali S present her modern take on Indian handloom and make her guest debut at the famed couture week.
Rahul Mishra was the first Indian designer to be invited to showcase at the couture week and he will also return for the upcoming season, which is scheduled to include physical runway shows.
“This has always been a dream for me,” designer Vaishali S told Elle India, about her upcoming showcase.
“My team pushed me to apply, and I thought it had actually come at the right time. The brand was ready in terms of maturity of workmanship and my own maturity in terms of development and sensibility. Also, the things that have always been my pillars have suddenly become mainstream: sustainability, zero waste, circularity and innovation. It has been a long and very professional process. That’s why I am happy to achieve this.”
The designer has a “surprise” planned for the show. “I really hope I will leave a mark,” said Vaishali S.
“And then the rest you already know, since it has always been my routine: intricate sustainable artistry directly derived from nature. It will also keep that thread that makes my clients feel the energy of nature in the creations that wrap them.”
Vaishali S’s eponymous brand retails from a flagship store in Mumbai, opened a year ago, and its e-commerce store. The brand has showcased collections in New York and India.
