Urbanic sells 51,000 items on its Myntra debut

London-based digital fashion brand Urbanic witnessed strong sales on its opening day on e-commerce platform Myntra selling around 51,000 items across categories like tops, dresses, and jeans, among others.

Myntra claims that this was among the biggest-ever opening day for a brand on its platform in the Gen-Z fashion segment as around 23,000 items were sold within the first 12 hours of the brand going live and 51,000 by the end of the day.
 
Commenting on the brand launch, Ayyappan Rajagopal, chief business officer at Myntra, in a statement said: “The consumer-centric ethos and progressive concepts of both Urbanic and Myntra have resonated with the youth in India, especially young women, evident from the sales on the first day of the launch, which has surpassed our expectations by a huge margin.”

Rahul Dayama, head of marketing at Urbanic India, added: “We are delighted by the overwhelming response Urbanic has received on Myntra. Grateful to be able to make Urbanic more accessible to fashion-conscious Indians and scale the brand to newer heights through this unparalleled partnership.”
 
Urbanic officially launched on the Myntra platform on September 1, after signing a partnership in August. Founded in 2019, Urbanic also sells its products in India through its app and claims to have over 15 million downloads of the app in India.
