Urban Outfitters beats sales estimates in Spain

One year after its debut in Spain, the American fashion store Urban Outfitters has announced it plans to grow further in the country. The company regards its first store, based in Barcelona, as a total success, with sales beating estimates by 11%.
“Urban Outfitters has managed to connect with the people of Barcelona, and it has attracted national and international tourists,” said the company in a statement.
Urban Outfitters celebrated the first anniversary of its Spanish business with a party that was attended by 5,000 people. Its Barcelona store spreads over 1,870 m² and employs 50 people.
The retailer ended the third quarter with global sales of $825 million, a 1.3% increase on the prior year’s period.
