Urban Outfitters is approaching the Italian market as it approached the French market. The US retailer will soon open its first Italian location, but in partnership with a department store. While not monobrand, the location will still consist of a very large shop-in-shop to open in Milan, with a surface of 2,150 square feet.

The new Annex space in La Rinascente Milan that will welcome Urban Outfitters

Urban Outfitters will be the driving force behind La Rinascente’s new "Annex" space, set aside for youth fashion and in particular for denim. To open on February 25, a large portion of the new space will showcase the American brand’s collections as well as its multibrand selection.

The experiment could lead to the extension of the partnership with La Rinascente, similar to what the company did in France. After opening a corner at les Galeries Lafayette Haussmann in 2013, three other department stores welcomed Outfitters in 2014.

Including both shop-in-shops and traditional stores, the American brand has 235 points sales worldwide, the large majority of which are located in the US. In Europe, it is present in the UK, Germany, France, Ireland, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, the Netherlands and Denmark.
