Uniqlo to open its third store in India on February 29

​Fast-fashion brand Uniqlo will strengthen its retail footprint in India, with the opening of its third store in the national capital, New Delhi.

Uniqlo’s third store, spread over 21,500 square feet of retail space across two floors, will open at DLF Avenue, Saket in South Delhi, on February 29.
 
Uniqlo entered the Indian market by opening its first store in the country at the Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj in New Delhi, followed by its second store at DLF CyberHub in Gurugram.

“Our journey in India has been very rewarding and we would like to offer our sincere gratitude to everyone who has made us feel welcome. We are delighted with the positive feedback our products have garnered in the winter season and are now looking forward to opening our third store, Uniqlo DLF Avenue Saket, at the onset of the new Spring Summer season," said Tomohiko Sei, CEO of Uniqlo India, in a statement.
 
Uniqlo claimed to have recorded Rs 2.2 crore ($331,000) in sales during its first two days retailing in India. Uniqlo is owned by the Tokyo-based business Fast Retailing and was founded by Tadashi Yanai.

The business currently has more than 2,200 stores in 25 markets including Japan.
