Uniqlo starts e-commerce operations in India
Japanese apparel brand Uniqlo has gone online in the Indian market with the launch of its e-commerce operations amid the Covid-19 disruptions.
Uniqlo has completed one year in the Indian market and its website launch will further strengthen its presence here as it will allow customers to shop its products from the website.
Commenting on the launch, said Tohomiko Sei, CEO at Uniqlo India in a statement said: “After a large number of requests from across the country about our products, we are happy to announce that now consumers can shop Uniqlo products from the comfort of their homes. With this service, we hope to provide more customers with iconic Uniqlo items through our website to support their lives in this new normal. We will be delivering to people in more than 17,000 pin codes across the country.”
Uniqlo had entered the Indian market with its first store in the country at the Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj in New Delhi last October. The brand recently opened its fourth store in the country and plans to open one more store in DLF Mall of India later in the year.
Uniqlo is a subsidiary of Japan-based apparel retailer, Fast Retailing, and has its presence in 25 markets across the world.
