Uniqlo expands its retail footprint in India with new store in Lucknow
Global Japanese retailer Uniqlo has strengthened its retail presence in India with the launch of a new store in Lucknow as part of its one-year anniversary celebrations of its website in India.
The news store is located at the Lulu Mall in Lucknow and spread across an area 9,265 sq ft. It is Uniqlo’s first store outside the Delhi NCR region.
Uniqlo sees huge growth potential in the fast-growing Indian market and plans to further expand its presence with focus on metros, and tier 1 cities.
Commenting on the launch, Tomohiko Sei, CEO of Uniqlo India in a statement said, “This July marks the one-year anniversary of Uniqlo’s online store in India, and we are thrilled to celebrate a new milestone in this timeline with the launch of our new store in a brand-new market, Lucknow.”
“We look forward to catering the customers in Lucknow by providing Uniqlo’s highly functional and high-quality apparel that we call Lifewear to make everyday living better. This launch also supports our underlying commitment to the ever-evolving Indian market and marks a major step forward for our business expansion in India,” he added.
Uniqlo, a brand of Fast Retailing, first entered the Indian market in October 2019. It is currently operating six stores in Delhi NCR and one in Lucknow.
