Uniqlo expands Indian presence with store in Delhi NCR
Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo has strengthened its retail presence in the Indian market with the launch of its sixth store in India, despite the Covid-19 disruptions.
The new store, located at the Ambience Mall, Gurugram, is spread over an area of 19,000 square feet. Since its India entry, Uniqlo has developed a strong partnership with Ambience Malls with plans to further it by adding new stores next year.
Commenting on the India expansion, Tomohiko Sei CEO at Uniqlo India in a statement said, “We are delighted to partner with Ambience Malls for the second time and are thrilled to open our sixth store in Delhi NCR at Ambience Mall, Gurugram. We also hope that the New Year will bring hope, positivity, and growth for all.”
Arjun Gehlot, director at Ambience Malls, added: “After the success of Uniqlo’s first store in Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj, we are very proud to partner with Uniqlo for the second time at Ambience Mall, Gurugram. The team takes immense pride in Uniqlo’s retail journey in India.”
Uniqlo entered the Indian market with its first store in the country at the Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj in New Delhi last October. The brand is a subsidiary of Japan-based apparel retailer, Fast Retailing, and has its presence in 25 markets across the world.
