House of Fraser signs former Government Head of Digital
The British retailer has hired former Ministry of Justice Head of Digital Mark Madden in an effort to strengthen its omnichannel offering. Joining House of Fraser as the newly created position of Director of Digital Products, Madden will be in charge of the company's digital product, project and customer experience areas.
Madden worked for the Ministry of Justice for nearly a year and has also held roles at TalkTalk, Sky, Yahoo and Boots - serving at the latter as head of digital communications.
The hire comes as House of Fraser focuses on bolstering its digital offering, which was reportedly the brand's most profitable channel this year accounting for 15.4% of total sales.
The department store also unveiled earlier in June plans of creating shoppable windows during Christmas season, enabling in-store customers to experience digital shopping. This follows an internal data report which shows that only 25% of its customers shop across channels, compared to 70% which only shop in the store.
