UK's Harvey Nichols opens Azerbaijan store

Harvey Nichols, the British department store retailer, has opened a new branch in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The new store is located in the Globus Plaza shopping mall and measures 110,000 ft² divided among seven floors. Harvey Nichols in Baku will sell more than 500 international designer brands and was designed by London-based interior design company Four V.

Stacey Cartwright, Group Chief Executive of Harvey Nichols, said: "We are delighted to be opening a store in Azerbaijan, our first in the region. This market is fast becoming one of the top luxury retail destinations in the world and we are excited to offer the ultimate in luxury shopping and hospitality to the discerning customer in Baku."

According to The Economist, Azerbaijan is considered to have the second fastest growing economy of any country between 2000 and 2010 based on GDP.
