Asda, the UK supermarket that is owned by Wal Mart, is set to enter the UK high street with two new stores in London.

The new shops open in July and will be located on Deptford High Street and in Wealdstone. The company continues to focus on Click-and-Collect customers and the Deptford store will have a Click-and-Collect desk, focusing on fashion line George & GM and Collect plus. The Wealdstone shop is located just 0.3m from an existing Click-and-Collect offer at Harrow & Wealdstone tube, which is serviced by Asda's London Home Shopping Centre in Enfield.

The company's 5-year strategy includes expanding further into London and the South East. Craig Bonnar, Asda's Vice President for Store Development, said: "We've been clear about our strategic ambition to expand into London and the South East and customers tell us that a convenient and great value shopping experience is important to them. These new sites will allow us to bring Asda value to even more customers."

Asda is also opening two more standalone stores in Chatham Docks & Hayes.
