Udaan aims to benefits all businesses with upcoming 'Mega Bharat Sale'

Business-to-business e-commerce platform Udaan aims to support kirana stores and small businesses across India with its upcoming ‘Mega Bharat Sale’ which will run from October 6 to 12.

The sale event will feature over 100 brands and 5,000 stock keeping units in product categories including personal care goods as well as groceries, ET Tech reported. Kirana stores and small retailers will be able to avail discounts and offers on the fast moving consumer goods products and manufacturers will be able to reach more buyers.
 
The business has enhanced and optimised its shopping app ahead of the sale event to provide a more seamless experience for users. It expects many participating small businesses to come from tdier 2 and 3 locations out of its three million-strong user base.

“In this edition of the sale we have scaled our operations and partnered with over 100 brands to provide transparent pricing, better selection, and variety at attractive price points to small retailers and kirana shop owners,” said Udaan’s head of food and FMCG business Vivek Gupta, the Economic Times reported. “Our first edition of Mega Bharat Sale witnessed over 80% participation from small retailers and kirana stores on our platform.”
 
The business is also in the process of expanding its operations and warehouse capacity. In the coming seven to eight years, Udaan plans to reach a warehouse capacity of 50 million square feet, spread across India.
