Turms' advisory board will comprise of Murali Sastry, CEO of IIT B-Monash Research Academy; Sanjay Modi, former managing director for the APAC & Middle East regions at Monster.com; and Sridhar Viswanathan, managing partner of Silver Cruste.

The trio will be entrusted with the responsibilities of helping Turms build an R&D roadmap, set up new revenue channels and optimise the supply chain.

Turms has around Rs. 6.3 crore ($0.9 million) in its purse which it had raised in a funding round in November. The money will be used to expand its product portfolio and to set up experience centres in top cities across India with the guidance of the advisory board.

“Our advisors bring in decades of experience, and further strengthen us to build towards our mission to provide the convenience-driven shopper intelligent, functional and low maintenance apparel at an affordable price,” Rameswar Misra, CEO of Turms, told Economic Times.

Sastry added, “With the e-commerce ecosystem maturing in India, it’s the right time for innovative and deep technology backed brands like Turms to disrupt the multi-billion dollar apparel industry and create a niche market for themselves.”

Turms has witnessed a spike in sales in the last one year and is aiming to break even within the next six to nine months.

Founded in December 2016, Turms' merchandise range includes jeans, t-shirts, shirts, and trackpants for men and T-shirts and leggings for women.
