Tuileries trade shows celebrate Première Classe’s anniversary

Published
Sep 22, 2014

1989: the launch of the first edition of the trade show Première Classe, held during fashion week.

1989: the theme selected for the upcoming session of Tuileries trade shows, which will kick off on Friday, September 26 and end on the following Monday.

WSN Développement has thus decided to underscore the history of its longest-running show while celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The tents in the Tuileries Garden housing the trade shows Première Class, Paris sur Mode and Don’t Believe The Hype in the Tuileries Garden will share a common thread: 1989.

The collective La Base will be responsible for bringing the somewhat nostalgic theme to life.

Besides the visual aspects of the shows, the theme has also been presented to 25 exhibiting designers, each commissioned to create a unique piece for the event.

Their designs will be exhibited in display case located between the tents, and will be put on sale in December on Spootnik.com.

Also available will be pieces designed for the season’s second exhibition: Swarovski jewelry designed by five designers as part of the company’s exhibition World Jewelry Facets 2014.

As for exhibitors, there will once more be 500 brands divided among three areas.

Première Classe will continue to be the largest show with 390 brands, a number that has grown with 63 new additions, including the French shoe brands Atelier Martin and Jour Férié, the leatherwear company Prows Villedieu, and the scarfmaker Carsten Haase.

As for ready-to-wear, Paris sur Mode will stick to its time-tested formula, welcoming a hundred brands. Newcomers will include Beautiful Soul London, the French designer Karine Lecchi, Styl.Myl from Singapore and the Italian brands Leitmotiv and Martacucciniello.

Halfway between Paris sur Mode and Première Class, the “discovery” section Don't Believe the Hype has selected 17 brands this time, an overwhelming majority of which will be making their debuts. They include Seilenna for swimwear, Liné Jagot for bags, G.Kero for t-shirts as well as Polder, Erotokritos and Grenson.

Finally, WSN Développement’s fourth trade show to be held during the week, The Box, will once more be put on a stone’s throw from the Tuileries, in the pavilion Cambon.

One hundred or so brands will once more take part this season, with a significant number of shoemakers among the fashion accessories designers present.

Among those new to the space: the handbag labels Passerin-Nonpareil from Belgium, Marie Martens from France and Mayra Fedane from the UK, the shoemaker Del Rio London and the jewelrymaker Douglaspoon.
