Trussardi has a new management team. The brand, owned by the asset management company QuattroR since February, has began a new chapter with Maela Mandelli as its new head, who will step into the role at the end of September, and Giuseppe Pinto as director of operations, who was appointed to the post at the beginning of March. They are charged with “putting in place the new recovery plan and the international development of the group,” said the latter in a statement.

Tomaso Trussardi continues in his role as president of the company. The great-grandson of the luxury glove maker Dante Trussardi, who founded the business in Bergamo in 1911, has previously held the role of CEO and is the last heir to remain active in the company. Tomaso Trussardi and his mother Maria Luisa Gavazzeni together hold 40% of the company and QuattroR, which specialises in “the revival and development of Italian small and medium enterprises in a temporary phase of financial crisis,” has taken a majority stake of 60%.

As the brand said in its press release, Maela Mandelli and Giuseppe Pinto bring their experience in the commercial and product sectors as well as with restructuring businesses.

“The objective is to give an international dimension to an historic Italian brand in the accessible luxury sector by reinforcing its positioning and visibility whilst leveraging its line extensions,” the brand said.

Maela Mandelli joins the business from the US firm PVH, where she has worked since 2013 dealing primarily with the brands Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein. Her latest role at the business was as managing director for the Netherlands, Greece, the Middle East, and Africa. Mandelli has also previously worked for Diesel for five years and Nike for seven years.

Giuseppe Pinto has worked in the luxury sector for almost 20 years. Before arriving at Trussardi, he worked as director of operations at Sergio Rossi since 2016 managing all aspects of the business’ reorganisation in finance, logistics, and production. Prior to Sergio Rossi, Pinto spent 13 years at the jewellery brand Pomellato, first as financial director then as director of operations. Pinto has also previously worked for Abn Amro Capital and Richard Ginori.
