Transgender models walk for top designers in Delhi

India’s transgender models walked the ramp for some of the country’s biggest fashion designers at the Under the Rainbow event held at the national capital recently.

The unique fashion show also featured drag queens and people with disability walking the ramp at Kitty Su, The Lalit in Delhi. The event was aimed at promoting love and inclusiveness in the New Year 2018.
 
Some of the country’s biggest names in the fashion space showcased their collections at the event with a different set of models wearing their outfits for a change.

Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahliani, Namrata Joshipura, Gauri Nainika, Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini, Pallavi Mohan and Arjun Saluja were some of the designers that participated in the event.
 
From Miss Trans Queen India, two transgender staff members from The Lalit Group staff, Indian drag queens, DJ Kitty Glitter who was crowned Sydney's Favourite Drag Queen in 2006 were among the models. The show also featured Alex Mathew, popularly known as Maya the Drag Queen.
 
"We are not only hosting successful inclusive events, we are redefining set society norms, and I am proud to say that we are making a difference. It's not just the government or the institutions, but it is the people who must act to make a difference. All we need for 2018 is pure love," Keshav Suri, Executive Director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group said in a statement.
