Up-and-coming clothing brand Torani has launched a new children’s wear line named 'Bachpan' to add to its men’s and womenswear lines.

Much like its men’s and womenswear, Torani’s new children’s wear line features handwoven chanderi and hand-painted chintz on mulmul sourced from Telangana. The line includes kurtas and lehengas in the same rich floral prints as its womenswear offerings, but with easy-to-wear details such as elasticated waistbands.

“Since the inception of our brand last year, I always wanted to extend our range that is inclusive of the entire Indian family,” wrote Torani’s founder Karan Torani on the brand’s Facebook page on November 9.

“The Torani-Bachpan range for children has the signature delicacy and whimsy of our parent line Torani… Bringing in the timeless ease of our fabrics, the clothing is mostly adaptable and can transition from occasion wear to casual luxury for kids of all age groups.”

“What I aspire to do with Torani is to bring tradition and culture to the forefront in the most nuanced and subtle manner,” Karan Torani told Vogue India about the brand.

“The idea is to create classics that last you way beyond a season, and evoke a personal love affair with the garment that tells your own story.”

The brand also recently launched menswear for the first time with its summer collection this year.

Torani launched last year and retails from its dedicated e-commerce store. The brand is inspired by Indian mythology and its current men’s and womenswear collection is titled 'Chatt'.
