The British brand is launching its first continental European flagship on 26 February in Amsterdam. For this, the Arcadia group has chosen a nearly 13,000 ft² 3-level space in Amsterdam, the hoebase for a "Europe-wide expansion", says CEO Philip Green.

Topshop currently operates via a network of 318 of its own stores in the UK and 9 more in the United States. Until now the rest of the world has had access to the brand via 137 franchises located in 40 different countries, as well as corners in department stores. That is soon to change, in Europe at least, with the retail chain starting to look for locations with at least 16,000 ft² in the bigger European cities, but especially in Germany.

Arcadia, parent company of the Topshop, Evans and Miss Selfridge brands, generated 2.7 billion pounds in revenue for its financial year ended on 31 August, compared to 3.3 billion a year earlier.
