Nielsen spent 15 years at Scandinavian clothing company Bestseller, rising from manager of the Jack & Jones label to country director for the group in the UK and Ireland. He was recently promoted to regional director overseeing the company’s activities in Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland and Australia.

He was also a member of Bestseller’s global executive top management board.

At Hummel, Nielsen will take up the role of director, leading the entire team into “a new era” following the controversial removal of previous head Søren Schriver in February.

Bestseller has not responded to a request for comment at time of writing, but it is understood that Henrik Bjørn Hansen will take over responsibility for Bestseller in the UK and Ireland.

The business, controlled by fashion billionaire Anders Holch Povlsen, has more than 20 brands with Jack & Jones being the most popular one. The menswear brand launched a revamp strategy earlier this year aimed at streamlining its structure and refocusing the brand.
