Tata Group’s Titan plans to take its fine jewellery brand Tanishq to new international markets to target Indian diaspora in North America and West Asia as it gears up to launch a store in the US this fiscal.

The brand recently opened a Tanishq store in Dubai which is performing well, the Press Trust of India reported. Tanishq aims to replicate this with a US brick-and-mortar store this financial year to reach the country’s large South Asian diaspora and fuel sales growth by tapping into what it sees as a very large opportunity.

“The opportunity for the jewellery division during financial year 2022- 2023 as well as over the medium term is excellent,” said Titan in a statement, the Press Trust of India reported. “Apart from the low market share, increasing competitive advantage and brand preference, the jewellery division is continuing to push many levers for growth.”

Titan’s jewellery division contributed 88% of the brand’s total sales in the 2022 financial year which amounted to Rs 27,456 crore, ET Bureau reported. Titan’s jewellery brands include Tanishq, Zoya, and Mia by Tanishq, which specialises in lightweight, everyday jewellery.

Following two years of disrupted wedding seasons, Titan is confident that this year will bring strong jewellery sales without any significant disruptions. Although gold prices are high, an end to pandemic restrictions and pent-up demand are expected to counter this.
