Titan's Tanishq to double large format stores by March 2024
Titan Company Limited’s jewellery brand Tanishq is looking to double its number of large format stores by the end of the 2024 financial year to cater to large groups of customers in one go and offer them a comprehensive jewellery selection.
“Currently, we have about 50 large format stores in the country and are planning to double the number,” said Titan Company Limited’s regional business head for South India, Sharad, The Hindu reported.
Tanishq currently has a total of 400 brick-and-mortar stores in India of varying sizes and formats. The brand has a strong retail presence in Tamil Nadu where it operates 46 stores, of which 13 of these are located in Chennai.
The brand aims to open between 40 and 50 large format stores over the remainder of the current financial year and the upcoming 2024 fiscal. Some of these stores will be launched in new areas and others will be created by renovating an existing Tanishq store to transform it into a large format outlet.
Tanishq also reported a strong response to its recently launched Chola-themed jewellery collection. “It was the best ever sales,” said Sharad about the line. “It exceeded our expectations. It was well received from customers spanning from metros to smaller towns during Diwali. For Pongal festival, we will launch new collections.”
