With this partnership, Fastrack has strengthened its wearables and fitness category. The smart fitness band will have a digital payment component and be launched under Fastrack’s sub-brand Reflex. The collaborative band is expected to be launched in May.

“Covid-19 has accelerated the trend of digital payment. Youth has always been an early adopter of cashless payment. Yono has a lot of traction with the youth. A chip embedded in the smart band will be linked to one’s SBI account to make cashless payments by flashing the band in front of POS machines,” in a statement said Suparna Mitra CEO - watches and wearables at Titan Company Ltd.

“We are looking at explosive growth in the wearables category. It will be a sizeable part of our business in the next 2-3 years. In watches, we are the market leaders with 50% market share. Wearables is the new emerging category,” Mitra added.

Launched in 1998, Fastrack currently has 170 stores in the country and sells online with a strong presence in affordable watches, sunglasses, bags, belts, and wallets segments.
