“Our first store in North America is set to open in May- June in New Jersey and we will be launching a few more stores in other international destinations,” said Titan Company’s jewellery division CEO Ajoy Chawla, Moneycontrol reported. “The focus is going to be the U.S., Canada and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including Qatar and Bahrain.”

The business aims to tap into the market of Indians living abroad through its international expansion. The business operates a number of brands including Tanishq, Zoya, Mia, and CaratLane, and plans to open stores for them in locations with high concentrations of Indians such as the U.S., UAE, and Australia among other locations.

“We want to become the jeweller brand of choice for the NRI [non-residential Indian] PIO [person of Indian origin] consumers in North America in the next three years and we are doing everything to get there at a fast pace,” said Chawla.

Titan Company opened its first international store in Dubai last year for its brand Tanishq. The business then opened two more stores in Dubai and Abu Dhabi following what it describes as a positive response to its first Dubai store. The business had previously opened a store in the U.S. in 2008 but then closed it.
