Luxury brand retailer Titan Company has launched new measures with the aim of attracting and retaining a more diverse employee base as it aims to bring more women into its workforce.
Following discussions with current employees, Titan Company has made all of its policies gender-neutral to increase equality, especially forts policies related to childbirth and parenting, ET Bureau reported. The business has also made its policies LGBTQI+ friendly and measures include job protection for the returning primary parent and support beyond the period of leave. The business aims to achieve an employee base which is 50% women, up from its current rate of 25.5%.
“We have been reviewing our policies over the last couple of years and have had extensive discussions with employees to figure out what they want, and our new revised initiatives are a result of these discussions,” said Titan Company’s head of HR for corporate and retail, Priya Mathilakath, ET Bureau reported.
Titan Company waived off band-wise eligibility for many of our benefits and made them applicable across the organisation. The business has also increased support for women employees posted to non-metro areas.
“Previously, we have observed that women do not prefer non-metro locations due to unfamiliarity and safety issues, but we want to change that through our revised policies; we hope that these enablers will help women employees take charge of their careers and get exposure in different cities and teams,” said Mathilakath.
