As the Black Friday sale begins, a large number of Indian shoppers are expected to take part and make purchases despite the fact that the festive season sales have only just ended. As the sale originated in the US and is one of the country’s main sale events, many Indian shoppers are looking to buy from US retailers offering large discounts. Many of these do not ship to India so a group of rising businesses are offering shipping services to bridge the gap.

Shipping service businesses like Viabox and Boxinus are offering services that ship packaged to a US address from where they are then forwarded on to India. The services can also calculate costs for shipping and customs.

Although the extra shipping and customs fees will mean that Indian shoppers save far less than their US counterparts, they will still be able to shop US brands at a cheaper price. This will be competition for Indian brands that are also hosting Black Friday sales of their own. Mint suggests that customers purchase shoes among other items if they are looking for a deal and, as fashion is the second largest e-commerce category in India after electronics, such purchases are certain to make up a bulk of total sales.
