The womenswear fashion week has hit Paris, and with it a retinue of trade shows and brands. Nearly 1,500 labels will be presenting their Autumn-Winter 16/17 collections at seven more or less busy events throughout the French capital. Here is a review of the line-up (all venues in Paris):

The Première Classe-Paris sur Mode campaign featuring the Paris Opera - Olivier Amsellem

Première Classe – Paris sur Mode – Don’t Believe The Hype
The series of second-round shows organised by WSN Développement will be held at the Tuileries Gardens and elsewhere. A pop-up show will in fact be held at the Galerie de l’Opéra de Paris, the Opera's store, mirroring an exhibition of dance-inspired pieces at the Tuileries. In terms of exhibitors, the largest contingent will once again be that of accessories companies, with 470 brands featured at the Première Classe show. The accessories area will be split in two locations: the Tuileries gardens and the Cambon pavilion (known until a short while ago as The Box). It will introduce several new names, such as Fetiche, Paraboot, Inès Olympe Mercadal, Poupard, Delaunay and Sous les Pavés.

Paris sur Mode will instead showcase about one hundred ready-to-wear brands, featuring new entries such as Leonie, Sakina M’Sa, Claudius, LailaSoares and Cuisse de Grenouille. Finally, the young, lifestyle show Don’t Believe The Hype will be shining the spotlight on 18 labels, among them Naelie, Saskia Diez, Undun and Elodie Bruno.

From 4th to 7th March,
Terrasse des Feuillants, Tuileries Gardens
Cambon Pavilion, 46 rue Cambon

Tranoï
The Tranoï Femme womenswear show has changed venues again. After committing to the Cité de la Mode et du Design for the latest menswear edition, the womenswear show organised by Armand Hadida has chosen the same location. The new venue will be part of a triptych including the Palais de la Bourse and the Carrousel du Louvre. About 600 brands altogether will be exhibiting there this season, less than half of them for accessories.

Accessories exhibitors will be spread throughout the three venues, and will also have a special focus at the Carrousel du Louvre, alongside evening dress specialists and emerging talents, which are to be found at the venue's mezzanine. Among the new exhibitors there will be H+ Hannoh Wessel, presenting a collection marking its return to fashion, established brands such as Ventcouvert, talked-about designers such as Karine Lecchi, and new labels such as Majorité Opprimée and Les Tricots de Léa, among others.

From 4th to 7th March,
Cité de la Mode et du Design – 34, quai d’Austerlitz
Carrousel du Louvre – 99, rue de Rivoli
Palais de la Bourse – 28, place de la Bourse

Vendôme Luxury
This season the Vendôme Luxury show will be held again in two venues close to the renowned jewellers' square: the Meurice Hotel and the Hôtel d’Evreux. It will feature some thirty brands presenting their evening wear, ready-to-wear and accessories collections, such as ML Monique Lhuillier, Veil London, Chai Gold Label and Jade Jagger, among others. The two exhibition venues, as they do every year, will also be hosting an artist. This time Carole de Bona invited Cyril Le Van, who will be encouraging a reflection on mass fashion.

From 4th to 7th March,
Le Meurice - 6, rue de Castiglione
Hôtel d'Evreux - 19, Place Vendôme

ZipZone
The show will be relocating this season, from the Seine's right bank to the left bank. From its long-standing venue at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, ZipZone is moving to the Hôtel de l’Industrie, in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés area. The new location will allow the show to welcome some thirty brands in a single venue, providing enough room for all of them. The show will feature new entries such as Spanish designer Yvan Andreu, the Australian footwear label Senso and Moka London, an upmarket ready-to-wear brand.

From 4th to 6th March,
L’Hôtel de l’Industrie – 4, Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés

So... Couture by David Pirnia
So... Couture by David Pirnia is a newcomer in the world of second-round shows. It combines the skills of Sophie Guyot (founder of Fame), of agent David Pirnia and finally of Nadya Kojevnikova, founder of the New Couture independent showroom. The three of them will showcase, in two of the Westin Hotel's halls, some thirty designers from Eastern countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Turkey etc.

From 3rd to 7th March,
Westin Hotel Paris-Vendôme – 3, Rue de Castiglione

Autumn-Winter Campaign - Woman

Woman
The Woman trade show has reported the presence of about 80 brands at this year's edition, a slightly smaller number than in the past. Located in their usual rue Yves Toudic bastion, close to the République and Canal Saint-Martin areas, the brands will showcase their streetwear and designer styles, or in some cases a mixture of the two. Among them there will be About Baltic Underwear, Folk, Maison Labiche, Can Pep Rey, ZDDZ and Hong-Kongese brand 112 Mountainyam.

From 4th to 6th March,
25, rue Yves Toudic

Capsule
Capsule's menswear edition has relocated to the Maison de la Mutualité, while the womenswear show will remain at the Tapis Rouge, a venue first used in 2014. The Parisian show, organised by US event planner Reed, will welcome this season about 80 brands at a venue not far from the Woman show, among them Bleu de Cocagne, Side Party, Royalties, Maiami, Oak and Naco – Paris.

From 4th to 6th March,
Tapis Rouge - 67 rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin.
