The Mommy Network Pop Up to showcase fashion, beauty, and panel discussions in Mumbai

On September 23rd, a pop up shop for beauty and fashion will be held by the Mommy Network for “mompreneurs” in Mumbai that will include stalls and a panel discussion.

Former banker Tejal Bajla, former management consultant Shreeya Lamba, and former lawyer turned pop star Kiran Amlani created the Mommy Network in order to share information and motivate other mothers to pursue their business dreams. The group’s so called “mompreneurs” are mostly in the fields of fashion and beauty and for this reason, the group is hosting a pop up shop to enable networking and support the businesswomen.

The network hosted a similar pop up shop in 2016 and its success prompted them to do it again this year. For this instalment of the Mommy Network Pop Up, the main focus will be fashion and beauty and, along with pop up shops, there will be a panel discussion on women in the fashion business.

The Mommy Network recently held its first panel discussion on entrepreneurship that included guests such as Deepshikha Deshmukh, founder of Love Organically and Farah Nathani Menzies, co- founder of the Mumum Company. Another guest, actress Tara Sharma said of the group: “Mothers have often had to give up successful careers in favour of motherhood. Today, a lot of them are lucky to get family and financial support to pursue their dreams while also shouldering the responsibility of motherhood. Mompreneurs has become a trendy word, but if you think about it, there couldn’t be anyone better than moms to perfect the balancing act.”

The Mommy Network is an Indian organisation for mothers who are also entrepreneurs and started as a simple group for sharing information but has now grown to a network of over 5,000 mothers in Mumbai alone.
