Indian modest wear brand The Hijab Lee presented its latest collection at Dubai Modest Fashion Week along with a host of international designers.
The Hijab Lee travelled to Dubai to present its latest collection on the runway on March 8, the second day of Dubai Modest Fashion Week. The fashion week, which launched in 2017, shines a spotlight on modest fashion with runway events and panel discussions among other events.
The Hijab Lee’s collection was titled “Live Your Femininity” and featured hijabs and dresses in blacks and rich jewel tones with accents of embellishment. Layering added drama to the looks and the collection mixed elements of traditional Indian design with modern touches.
The brand joined modest wear brands including Sempre from Turkey, S by Samar from the UAE, Mayada Apparel from Canada, Victoria Design from Estonia, Devi Janeeta from Indonesia, Johar from Jordan, Emma Melissa Apparel from Singapore, Mariyan Suleymanova from Russia, and Boutallion from the Netherlands among others. The event also held a panel on Azerbaijan modest fashion as well as panels on female empowerment and jobs in fashion.
The Hijab Lee is based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh and showed its previous autumn/ winter collection at Asian Designer Week 2018 in New Delhi. The brand specialises in jilbabs, abayas, kaftans, hijabs, and accessories.
